A communication with printer is established and can receive data from the printer but only print job can not be transmitted to the printer.

Check data format you are printing. When you are printing through GUI tool, input PNG file. When printing using Lpr command, input PostScript. Printing text files can be done after converting them into PostScript using a2ps etc.
